Ken Block in WRC driving a Ford

iHeartAuto.com Ken Block will be driving WRC in a Ford :

Ken Block who is well known for his Gymkhana video’s in a Subaru STi will be driving a Ford Focus in WRC next season.

“Racing in the World Rally Championship has always been a dream of mine but I’d still be dreaming if I promised podiums in the near future,”

“I will be going head to head with the greatest drivers on the planet. And sure, I will be giving it my all, but my main objective for 2010 is to develop into a competitive driver for 2011 and beyond.”

Block is backed by energy drinks Monster Energy and will have the car prepared by Cumbrian Firm M-Sport, which runs the works Ford team in WRC.

I'm not worried for Mikko Hirvonen, but Jari-Matti Latvala would be the one I'd replace with Block. He hasn't been consistent though you can see he's skilled.

I guess time will tell.

I had a ford thunderbird turbocoupe in high school, but that is unrelated to this story. Back on topic - I bet he will be driving an explorer. They're adequate off road, and somewhat pleasing on the pavement. I'd put their acceleration on par with the focus RS, yet they can carry 2 more people and a lot more luggage. And that's what's important in WRC - cabin space.

Good luck in your explorer, Ken. I know you read this forum often.

It'll be the new Ford Fiesta like Tanner Foust was driving at the X-Games last summer.
