Peak numbers question
Peak numbers question
Hey guys, another question for the track junkies
What is the max temp's I should allow my car to run at (Oil, Water, EGT, ect..)
And low figures (Oil PSI, Water PSI, ect.)
My sponsor is installing ProSport Gauges with Warning Lights in a custom cluster, just curious what you recommend.
I'm hoping to print this out in a page or so and email it to the guys sometime soon so try to keep the pointless stuff out on the first page please

I know its sort of a dumb questin, its pretty obvious that if your running 200 degrees at the track you should probably stop but I want to set up the warning lights so they come on before the problem but I dont want false warnings either.

Perfect temps are about 180 water and 180 oil. Realistic track temps going fast and on a hot day are around 200-220 water and around 240-270 oil. Obv you don't want your water to exceed 220 or it'll boil. Oil danger is 280, 300 and oh sh*t i better slow down. Oil pressure should be constant no matter the condition. It's when it goes low you got a problem. My prosport hangs out at the peak 100psi when i'm really on it down a straight. EGT shouldn't go past 1000C, whatever that is in F.
