So the fans just suck out air behind the bumper? Why not have it in the fresh air?

There's also a very good article online about the downfalls of having ducts mounted that low, I'm trying to find it now.

I think your heat problem is coming from the distal end of the feline entity which resides in your wheel well. Id suggest eliminating this component.
