What's a solid clutch/fly combo for my autox evo?
Ok guys my evo IX is totally stock engine wise right now but I planned on upgrading the exhaust, fuel pump, and adding a MBC and having it tunned to 24 psi( the mbc and 24 psi is iffy? Don't know if I'm gonna do it or not?). Just took the car out on a 2 hr drive and the clutch was slipping so bad by the time I got back that the other mods are going on the back burner for now. I ran the 2nd half of last season in street mod street tire, even though I could have been running in STU, for the simple fact that I've been racing in SMS the previous 1 1/2 seasons in that class. So my evo only has 24k on it and the clutch is gone( I was pretty hard on it when lauching). I really don't ever plan on exceeding 350 hp so what is going to be my best bet on a clutch/fly combo. And buy upgrading the clutch and fly will it void out my power train warranty? Thanks guys
Most aftermarket parts will void a warranty, but I can't tell you that for sure.
We ran an ACT HD-SS with an ACT lightweight flywheel in our street mod Evo. It's great on the street and very durable even in our 500+ hp/tq Evo.

I ran a exedy stage 1 and fidanza fly in my MSP that I used to autox in and liked that set up alot but far as the MSP to EVO, well thats like comparing a toothpick to a 2><4 lol! Thanks for the feed back guys
I don't believe aftermarket clutches/FW's are premitted in STU, but you should double check the rules.
A lot of the guys in my area are running exedy twins in their cars. That is what I have in my SM evo and I have no issues with slipping or getting locked out of gear.

If you are going to stay in STU, it's the factory clutch for you...
If you want to run BSP or above (SM, XP, etc) then use what ever you want.
I have been running fidanza flywheel with my second ACT HD clutch for over 90k miles. While the clutch is perfect for my needs, I think the fidanza flywheel is a little to light for the 4G63. Next clutch job I plan to replace the flywheel with something else.

For that power level (im in the same boat this year in my Evo), I went with Comp stage 3 clutch and their light flywheel. Its perfect on the street, grippier than stock but works amazing for a DD.
