Update on SSE Evo before World Time Attack Challenge
I was going to post this same thing - car looks sweet. Too bad they didn't get a chance to test the car after these changes. This aero change is significant, and Anti-Lag is a very tricky system to add to a car and not check it's in-use effects. Like destroying manifolds and turbos.
But they are a serious team, so hopefully everything works in there favor and they can dial things in real time. The WTAC is looking like an EVO fest, lots of serious EVO entries this year from Australian teams.

Thanks for the link. Looks like the first Evo with something approaching real aero. I hope SSE can devote some resources to develop an improved version, since TA really has no restrictions.

I was talking with a retired formula racing buddy who now owns a Lotus Exige S. He stated that a UK company did wind tunnel and computer analysis of the Lotus diffuser. They found that any structure held in the center of the diffuser reduced efficiency dramatically. ie exhaust. Formula cars have to work with it to cover the rear transmission that hangs there. I hope the SSE Evo will be faster. We ended up routing the exhaust to the right side skirt because the stock gas tank temperatures were dangerously high. I would love to see how SSE layed out the fuel cell and exhuast locations. Those GTR's might give SSE and the Cyber Evo a run for there money.

Granted the new rear diffuser of the SSE car isn't optimal, but SSE did use to run a Formula Atlantic car. So I'm sure they just used what they had laying around. Free is better than nothin!
From the WTAC site.
"Rumour has it, that Sierra Sierra’s idea of ‘starting slow’ involved running 1min 30sec lap times on their few runs. That would make it equal or better to last year’s winning lap from Cyber Evo. Sounds like that trick aerodynamic underbody might be doing the job. The team looked quietly confident in scrutineering."

Im following them on twitter as well as http://www.clubwtac.com/ In the exclusive articles section. Daily updates. Lap times included. Im gonna bet someone is gonna lay down a mid 1:29 lap time when this is all over.
I think the aero is working on all the top cars. I think they were all sandbagging on low boost the first day, but still pushing hard. I think the guys with an ace up the sleeve are simply going to switch to high boost and go after it.
It goes to show you need to develop the car, not just throw a bunch of crazy parts on and hope for the best. The R35 GTR's are way off the pace, as well as the other cars that were recently finished. It's pretty much the same guys as last year plus Garage Revolution and the Aussie R34 .
I think Sierra Sierra has got more speed in them for sure.
