Update on SSE Evo before World Time Attack Challenge
2nd place isn't bad considering CyberEvo was using some special sticker tires according to the comments:
can SSE protest cyberevo for running one-off tires? http://ameblo.jp/unlimitedworks/entry-10977043558.html the cyberevos unlimitedworks blog says theyre running non-commercially available WTAC specific tires
"They're not 'One-off' tires. They're 'WTAC' Specific tires which are not available/have not gone on sale in Japan"

I have not read the rules, but I thought they are in a unlimited class. You bring the fastest machine you possibly can. Who cares what tires their using? Anything goes! That's when you can have fun....Cyber Evo had national pride at stake so Tarzan gave Japan it all he could putting his life on the line. God knows they need some encouragement after the disaster they are still living through. Great acheivement for the Cyber Evo Team. Cheers!
LOL quite true, the new BW EFR turbos are no joke, but Tarzan is one crazy driver and likely was on the verge of wrecking to beat SSE's time. :P

So if nobody else can run them since they are not available, that seems a bit unfair... LOL.

I say take the loss and continue to work on the car. I'd want to beat that car no matter what tires it had on so I could say I beat it. Winning by a technicality wouldn't allow me to do that...
I'm sad that the USA didnt take home the victory, happy that the evos took 1st & 2nd, and hopeful that SSE puts their heads together to beat the cyber Evo next year.
Thank you SSE and crew, best of luck next year and congrats on finishing the race and taking second.
The special tire deal is an interesting cheat... if it's true. A+ for ingenuity, F for execution. I'll certainly be checking the sites for updates.

WOW incredible results from thoses teams.
Someone knows why in all the fields of cars they were only one evo X?
The list as numerous evo 6-7-8-9 but one evo X that finished 29th I think...
I know it's heavier and all but that much not competitive?

Well the AMS Evo X machine and Ryan Gates X would fair well I bet, just a bit far to ship your car for one event so you can't expect everyone to be there.
There's other cars that are much more actively tracking right now that are plenty fast (GST, Element Tuning, TIC, FXMD, anything with Popp or Skeen driving; lol) - and I don't think any of them could run against SSE these days. Def not in budget.
Hey, I'm an AMS guy and all, but I think you're giving these guys a bit too much credit. SSE is on a completely different playing field with regards to just budget alone.

It's kind of too bad that AMS isn't actively entering that car anymore due to costs. Latest news is that the "west coast only" Redline Time Attack was cancelled for the rest of 2011, big surprise there. I'm glad that other orginizations stepped up to offer alternatives but no single one is dominant yet leaving sponsors in limbo on where to invest.
I guess more my point is that if you had a similar budget as SSE and a real race team behind it all you could build an Evo X to deliver similar performance with a few advantages and disadvantages to make it interesting.
