I run the XP20s up front and the 12s in the rear, the 20s not only have more bite but are better at dealing with heat than the 12s were.

This has gotten my attention. I've been going through XP12's in the front at an insane rate. They seem to start wearing very quickly at high heat and lose bite as well. This XP20 might be a good deal.

The boys at Carbotech mentioned you and car . I am glad to hear they work well.

Update:

Installed the clutch tonight and tranny tonight. The motor is now ready to drop in.

Glad they used my name, they are a great bunch of people. Carbotech is a small family owned operation and they race as well so the person you talk to really knows his stuff.

Finally got around to working on the car. I dropped the subframe to make room for the motor and tranny/transfer case tomorrow. Stay tuned for install pics tomorrow. A couple of goodies came in this week as well.

Dropped the motor in tonight. Taking out the sub frame make life so so so much easier and smoother getting the motor and drivetrain in. I made good progress on hooking up the wire harness (90% done). Little by little. Hope to have the motor fired up middle of this week if I can find sometime.

Great progress!

Have you ever thought about wrapping your dash with suede or alcantara to reduce the glare that reflects off the dash and onto the windshield? Also adds an awesome visual touch!!!

So that's what they call it? Never knew that.

DOOOO ITTTTTT!!!

Afterall, you did say it was only 4 screws!

You prolly have to scuff the initial surface for grip, and then start under the edges securing the material to the dash, then wrap it over the dash like a decal.

DOOO IITTTT!!!

cool project!
look up some rally builders around you or contact some reputable rally shop, they will do it perfect. there are many things can go wrong, when you try to do it yourself or someone if they didn't do it before or if they have done very few... so i wouldn't trust anyone to do it.
Other hand it really helps in visibility
here is how mine looks like made by RKTmotors, i LOVE it.

Rob, how much did they charge you to wrap your dash? How long did it take them? This is something I would do on a daily driven car, too. Not just a race car!

One way of flocking dash that I know of is not wrapping it in sheets of material, but rather spraying glue on it, then spraying flocking fibers onto the glue. My friend did that in his race ar and it came out great. Weighs less too.

Jalal, it would be not really a good idea for a DD car, since it is very easy to get it dirty and hard to clean it perfectly. And i know you are a great photographer so you like details.

I dont know really how much is cost alone, since they did it when they rebuild my car completely for a "group A" car, ergo "open class" here in the states.
So it was a package deal.
You have to talk to them how much it will cost if you want it. In person really looks astonishing .
Of course i can help you on that but not in this topic.

cheers Rob
