Helmets
I've autocrossed only once in my Evo so far, but this year I hope to hit at least a half dozen or more, and as such I need a helmet. I borrowed one last year and it was a large (I'm an XL) and it was awful
I also drag race the Sky, same issue, same awful borrowed helmet. About a half dozen trips the past couple years, probably going up slightly this year.
So I'm looking into getting something nice; right now (based really on pictures and a few web reviews), I want the Sparco WTX-7 air.
I love carbon fiber for the look, the weight is of course a positive, and I've always liked Sparco seats, but have no experience with their helmets.
So, that being said, what would you guys recommend? MAX budget 1k, but preferably less. Needs to be SA2010 rated obviously. Bonus points if it's CF, but if you really have one you love and it's not, share your experience please!

I wear an HJC AR-10. Its a SNELL SA2010, and is very comfortable, and light. Retail is about $300. They make a few other models, and do have carbon for about 800 I believe. I just dont see the point to spending $1000 on a helmet that you will probably only use for 5 years.
got a pyrtoect pro airflow. Snell 2010, very light and comfortable. costs about ~$300. here is a review of them http://www.racinghelmetguide.com/201...et-review.html
Usually the lighter the helmet the more money it is going to cost you. Light helmets really shine on long track sessions. That being said for autox or strip where you are rarely going to be pulling g loads for more than 1 minute an inexpensive helmet like the ones mentioned above will work for you.
ive run into a little confusion on this lately. sorry if im stealing the thread a little.
i will be running with a few different sanctioning bodies across a few different states. what ive been told is that NJ has some higher standards.
are SA2010's basically needed everywhere? i have an hjc cl-15 from drag racing years ago and it is SA2005 rated
anyone know if i will be able to get away with my current helmet?
