Buschur Racing

http://www.buschurracing.com/index.html

My EVO is a Stage 4- (no cams yet) Here's what happened last weekend.... (I pm'd this to Dave)
I went road racing with NASA today HPDE class 4 in Glendale AZ I passed every M3 (7 from intake/exhaust mods to lowered and strutted) every STI/WRX (2) every Porsche (2/914-6s 2/944 Turbos a couple of 911's and a 911R and a completely tracked out 944 turbo with racing rubber/full cage and stripped interior. Now the 2 vette z06s... If I started in front of the "stocker" I could put time on him if I was behind he couldn't get away but I couldn't pass him (to fast on the straights... main straight =125 on the rev limiter in my EVO) The z06 with 40K in mods and hoosier track rubber could put about 2 car lengths in a 1.4mile lap (but I would catch him everytime we hit traffic ;-) ). Every one of the German and American Iron drivers wanted to know "what the hell have you done to that motor" I just loved telling them $3,000.00 in BOLT_ON mods from buschur racing they were amazed (half didn't believe me and wanted to know who built the race motor/which cams/cam gears HKS-Jun-works etc!)every one of those disbelivers made me open the hood so the could see for themselves.... and then just walked away shaking their heads thinking 35K 4 door sedan/rice rocket/fat/gray/46yo driver with a STOCK motor, STOCK suspension, rear sway bar and bolt ons just passed my expensive track day car?( I'm thinking THANK YOU DAVID TYM JEROD and everyone else at Buschur Racing that I don't know, and Vivid Racing for the sway bar, grounding kit, SS breaklines, fuel rail, battery relocate kit and the toyo's Dan, Rob, Mike and Shane). The rest of the guys on EvoM may just think you guys just build drag racing parts.... I know MUCH better now.

PS I took out the IC sprayer because you don't need it with your FMIC (and I didn't want the extra 30 lbs in the front end) no loss in power/ drop in laptimes over each 20 minute session! Water temp rock solid too (dropping the top of the IC very smart more cool air to the radiator).
One very satisfied Customer!!!!!!

robi what type of numbers do you think your putting down on a AWD dyno?

For 2500 you could save 200 more and buy perfworks kit and be at about 380-400whp. But his kit includes a new turbo which you probably don't want to do just yet.

Yeah thats always a good Question.... But 11.68 speaks for itself (customer cars turning 11.70- 11.80) If it wasn't co cold in Ohio I
'd bet the Bucshur boys would be Knocking on tens... Also in the challange noted if he added they woulb bump him up two classes a BR 3- (no cams it's the setup I described in the previous post and although I'm a top 3 finisher in oval racing.... I'm still tring to figure out why anyone would want to turn right ;-). Note I was passing and lapping everything in the touring 2 class or keeping up with cars in the touring 1 class with a touring 3 car.... As a racer you got to like those odds (now if I could get my AWD "track Dyno" to get me a dyno sheet I would show off the exact #'s)

If you're doing 5 tracks in 5 days, you might consider spending some of that money on tires. For the track I would do intake, turboback and swaybars. Better acceleration and handeling for not a lot of dough.

Amen to that. If you are running 5 different tracks, plan on buying at least one set of tires. Depending on your driving skill, you $2500 might be best spent on seat time at the track. Depending on the track, you may not be able to use any additional power but you can always use every bit to additional seat time you can get. But like I said, if you're already a seasoned racer, maybe seat time won't be the best bang for the buck.

okay..good advice..i've been racing for 10 years and have been an instructor at many events...taken many podiums and have been racing gokarts for 3 years now....as far as tires i have to run street tires nothing below a 140 tire wear rating.....i've been racing on slicks for the past 3 years so this should be a challenge.....i just went out tonight and bought an exhaust, downpiple and intake(hks)....i'm just looking to get to about 350hp and some good handling....and i need an extra set of rims....my problem is i'm running on a limited budget this year...this is why i sold my race car....i was going to have to buy 7 sets of slicks at $1000 per set each...to run my Porsche ..and that was just the beginning...thats why i bought the EVO...check out www.pulpracing.com to check out some good racing stories and some good gifts.....we have 1000's of supporters

ALL WRONG. The ONLY thing you need is a STAND ALONE ENGINE COMPUTER. I was passanger in an Evo today with one and I'm still trying to get over it...

Looking at your class competition, tires would be the next logical step even if you stay at or above the 140 rating. R compounds bump out up a class. You should have a traction advantage over the other cars, but realistically, you need it to rain.

Good luck and I will watch for results.

I autocrossed my Evo last year and by far the best mod I did was to change the rear sway bar to the Cusco 23mm 3-way adjustable. Also another big plus I found was to install the rear sway bar and v-brace to stiffen up the rear as well as a trunk bar also will help have not yet purchased it yet but another friend of mine has. I also upgraded the front lower brace with the Cusco version 2 box frame design and a good alignment does wonders also. Also as far as stock tires you cant get any better than the Advans already on the car. I have 8 extra sitting in my garage I like them so much.

here is one pic's will post more later if you would like.

Mine is the same... waiting on cusco pillow blocks for camber adj.
The cad is so neutral and forgiving...Alittle loose going in a touch tight coming off at full throttle.

Were you the silver evo at the nasa thing here in AZ?

I'm guessing it was you cuz it had CA plates.

I was there also, in group 2 though. You had some nice runs of what I did see.
