NEW ROAD COURSE TRACK...The Ridge

Figured I would post up a review of the new road course racetrack out here in the Pacific Northwest (Shelton, WA) out at The Ridge Motorsports Park. Opening weekend was last weekend (March 16-18th) and the track was insane! Got a good feel for the surface in both wet and dry conditions and the grip is unreal! Not to mention the fact that the entire track is 40' wide it really gives you the space to push it and feel the limit of the tires. The morning started out in the rain and with a wet track but the grip was still there. Top speed that I hit here was a little slower than our other PNW local track (Pacific Raceways). I hit 138-140mph in the front straight at The Ridge while I usually hit 148-152mph out at Pacific Raceways. The corners at The Ridge are A LOT more complex than the ones at PR though. If you own an Evo this is a track that you def. want to run at if you are ever up in the Seattle area.

Heres some of my GoPro Videos from the Track Day...Feel free to critique my lines...In the morning sessions I was just trying to learn the limit of the track surface but towards the afternoon I really started to get a feel for it and find my lines.

Nice. I gotta actually work on my car and get it ready for the year so I can get out there. What did you do for e85? I usually take 4 cans with me and since I live so close to PR, I basically start with a full tank. But driving to Shelton first will empty a good chunk of e85 out of the tank. It seems like I might need to have my wife come out in the SUV and I'll load it full of e85 cans.

I usually drive to the track on my race tires as well. That might be too far at The Ridge. I need a truck and trailer.

Yea it was about a 90mile drive one way for me from Kirkland...had just under a full tank when i left the house and had a little over half of a tank when i got there...i brought 4 Five-Gallon cans of E85 with me and saved 1 can for the trip home and it worked but i got home with the gas light on so next time ill do at least 21 gallons haha...The track is def. worth the drive though!

Nice! Have you been to Oregon Raceway Park too? If so, how do the tracks compare and which do you like better?

Haven't been out to ORP yet but I would really like to plan a trip this summer down there.
