i am, but the rally cars doing bad around that famous jump....
I mean Gronholm is finally awake, Heikinnen broke his ankle...
I mean wtf is wrong with the course engeneers? That jump is like a knife . It should be at least a little slope if you land short you can at least roll over on your nose or something, not like hitting the wall...

The young Finn racer accident at practice:

it looks like he either was waaay to slow, or something broke. i wouldnt think he could just miss THAT bad. Gronholm lost it into a turn.

i agree the jump seems to be a sore spot...but everyone else seems to be making it without issue so far.

Sure Gronholm didnt ended up in the gap, but the speed he carried to make a jump put him the situation where he crashed at the landing. We are not talking about rookies here and we all very clear on that i am sure.
So one try to make it slower to set up the car for a right speed / attitude for the next corner, he ends up with a broken ankle.
The other one makes it sure he will clear the gap based on the previous accident, he ends up being too fast and hit a light pole, ending up in unconcius in the hospital.

This is how i see it.

I think jump is cool and all that, but the driving skill is actually (wheel to wheel) is more entertaining. Jumps are boring untill accidents happens or something brake. Both is bad entertaiment in my opinion.
But they will not modify or exclude the jump, for a simple reason. Just like the old dying sociaty in Rome, people needs to see "blood" or a chance of it, and that is the one makes the games popular .

Old dirt jumps were much more safer and entertaining. There is a MAJOR difference between in Motocross - Monster trucks and rally.
Sadly Xgames doesnt reallize that in this case...

i dont disagree...had the same feelings after the issues at the texas race. i wouldnt blame x games though...its GRC's fault (this is still a grc round). I think they may just be pushing too hard to bring in fans/money in their infancy.

im more upset because i wont get to meet gronholm at the NH race now.

i hear you and i think we on the same page
I am basically blaming the people who didnt modifyed at least adding a slope or nose at the landing part of the jump. Easy , quick fix.
I am not sure if i have a major jump ramp on a course i am planning, i would place it where the landing zone has a Light pole EXPOSED at the end.

Anyway , i like Xgames and i think its a great event. But Since its extreme , there is a fine line between being entertaining or just being plane stupid. (hence , Jackess movie style event, lets go out there, and hurt ourself)
SO i think they should also Extremly pay attention on that fine line. If there is an issue , they should at least extremly fast try to solve it or at least to attempt to solve it.

oh i forgot to mention , i was wrong the xgames orgenizers did a good job fixing the mistakes they did with a course planning. Didnt change the fact they crippled two guy and put them out of race, but nice job/ fix regardless.
