2012 B Stock Mods

I'm driving an 06 EVO IX MR, bone stock as of now, and I'm wondering what mods you guys would suggest in B stock? I used to run my old EVO IX in STU and did very well. It had coilovers, bolt ons, 360-370whp, and 180,000 miles. The new one has nothing yet but a set of hankook RS3's and I'm wondering what I should do first. I know a set of track wheels and tires would give me the biggest bump, but I'm not looking to do the whole swapping wheels at the track thing just yet. Looking for suggestions on bolt ons and suspension parts. Thanks for the help!

You had 370 whp in STU w/o upping the boost? How?

Starting this year, the SCCA is offering a Road Tire class which you may be interested in. Same rules as stock, but 140 treadwear+ tires. The RS3s would be a good choice.

If I was setting up an IX for stock class, it'd be something like this:
* Tires - A6s for normal stock, Dunlop Z1's for RT*
* Alignment - max negative in the front, min negative in the rear
* Stiffer rear sway bar - kind of big for Hoosiers, not as big for street tires, but still more than stock. With Hoosiers you might have to consider a huge front bar instead if your tire wear is too bad, dunno.
* Shocks - I don't think there's a lot off the shelf, but it should be easy to find some used Bilsteins and have someone like Fat Cat Motorsports valve them for you. Only other option I know of is to spend $texas on some custom AST's.

There's other stuff - brake pads - air filter - catback - but the above is probably where you are going to gain the most time.

I did up the boost O_O so I was illegal for STU? no one ever asked, and I never knew. I ran in SM for a while because of carbon parts, but after I took those off they put me in STU.

For B stock, If I do catback, and air filter, can I do a tune? I've got hawk HPS pads on the car now. Also, are rotors legal? I had stoptech slotted on my old car, and I wanted a set on this one. Also, steel brake lines?

So I assume intercooler pipes aren't legal in B stock?

STU question...if I go bolt ons, can I tune it as long as I don't up the boost?

The rulebook is here:
http://www.scca.com/assets/2012_Solo_Rules_May.pdf

Stock is chapter 13, ST* is chapter 14. Always a good starting point.

1) Yep you were illegal. Sounds like a fun *SP car though
2) Can't touch the ECU in stock. I don't think you can run slotted rotors in stock. You can't run steel lines unless the car was built before 1992.
3) Intercooler pipes aren't legal in BS or STU. I believe they are legal in ASP.
4) Yes you can do a tune (fuel, timing, MIVEC) as long as you don't touch the boost/wastegate/whatever tables in any way.

IMHO the car is a blast in STU, but it should still be reasonably fun in RTA, especially if you have a unicorn (i.e. a stock IX).

Evo got moved to A, no longer in B.

As far as what you can do, I'm not really sure as I'm not that familar with the stock class rules. Just put some Ho-Ho's on that thing and have at it.

when did it get moved to A stock? I thought it got moved FROM A stock to B. Last I checked, I was B stock now. I've run B stock in every event so far this season in 2 different regions.

It's B stock. AS = C5 non-Z06 Vette, 1M, RX7, etc.
