Chasing the Dragon
Honestly, i don't have a lot of hope for another Mt Washington hillclimb any time real soon. It's quite possible that last year was a once in a lifetime shot. I'm SOOOOO glad we did it!

I know its longer - faster , and wider also no gravel vs Mt Washington. Some even said it to us, less technical, and that is a reason why they picked MtWashington vs PP. That is all i know at this minute.
So we try to run it, if we can , then we will be sooo happy. Lets hope and say ill see yoy there.
I've heard the comparisons too. lol.
I also hope i get in. If i run this, i will have competed in 3 of the oldest motorsports events in this country. (you need to run Giants Despair hillclimb in PA.). I don't think i will ever run Indy so i will have to live with doing these kind of historic events.
Gook luck again down at the dragon! Wait till you see George Bowlands hillclimb car and hill record. (if it dosn't rain)

Thanks again. I hope it will not rain. But if it does now i have rain tires too. Rain could shuffle the cards a little bit

so...
Was an interesting weekend at least.
here is in short:
Saturday we did one recce run and then my wife took the car for a first practice run. My mistake , it was very heavy rain and let her go with a dry rally slicks (no cut tires)
She spun and hit the wall at the second turn. Then she finished the run. She came down and we did go run up to see how the tires hold. Since we had no time to change between runs. (she runned grupe 1 i did run grupe 2 )
So we did test the tires and the notes. Was very slippery , but i decided to send her back on the same conditions.
Also i let her run all day to practice and loose all the draw back from the crash. She did great and i liked a way she drove in the heavy rain with those tires. They said Sunday will be sunny and picture perfect. So i decided to save the car for next day , also she will be much more confident on dry after the rain.
End of the day they shocked me with a news, i did run the fastest time of the day and already broke the standing Rally car class record . Which was done by a veteran rally driver with a Subaru sti
Next morning i lined up , put all the camera in the car etc. So i did set up the car for a race day. First launch , and kaboom for the rear diff. The rear bracket of the diff broke off. No spare = go home.
But i did managed to finish with my only time really overall 4th and come home with a new rally class record.
the cars they did run faster then me, on the second day (after practice) and with the dry conditions. Also i think worth to mention , the standing still hill climb record is 11 sec faster then my run:
here are the first 3 car:

Great job Rob and wife! Sorry to hear about the problems.
I will take a guess that the hill was never completely dry all weekend. If it had, i'm pretty sure George would have taken the overall hill record. He is probably the most experienced hillclimber in the US. He has been runnning hills for over 40 years, has run more hills then anyone i have ever heard about and hold more overall hill records then anyone. He is also very calculated. I saw he only ran 2 runs on the hill. He is the kind of racer that only does what he needs to for the win. There is always more in him and unless he has a goal in mind, he just stay's calm.
Rob, did you like the hill?

Thanks Andy
this is cool
"First run of the day, Robert Martai and Marcel Ceaskay had a bracket break on the diff on their beautiful Rally Evo. The day was done but their times from Saturday in the rain were good enough for Rally Class win, Class Record and 4th place overall! THAT is an amazing run. We'll find out what they can do in the dry hopefully next Sping! Scott Sipler went from 2nd to 1st in SU Street Unlimited Class on his lst run of the day on BORROWED Slicks! Lots of great class competition and helping each other win... a trade mark of the Time Trial drivers in SEDIV! George Bowland and Blair Underwood only made a few runs but they made them count. They took 1st and 2nd overall against some strong pressure from Heikki Rinta-Koski and Robert Martai."
