^ most NASA region will require a senior instructor to ride along with you for a check out ride and sign you off for HPDE4, then you'll be able to get your TT license.

One quick question, How does the licensing part work when you have no NASA HPDE event experience. In my case I've done multiple events ranging from advanced groups with open passing to Redline Time Attack events
Find out who is your NASA TT director and talk with him/her. If you have enough experience, I’m sure they'll allow you to run in TT with a "provisional license."

Our evo's can be just as fast as those vettes. I think the vette just seems like a better choice as its much more reliable at the ST2 power level.

my little off-season update:

After some experience with bolts loosening up at Road America, I've decided to get myself a safety wire kit.

Reloated my ACD pump. Do you think there is an issue with the ACD line being ran inside the cockpit?

New 355X32 rotor rings from FullTilt.

and my off-season mod to keep my driving skills sharp:

the corvette platform is superior over the Evo. they are purpose built race car with perfect weight distribution, better aero and flat power curve that can make 300 ft/lbs of torque at 2k rpm. AWD is really only beneficial in unlimited class where you need to put down 600+ whp

vette vs evo, I'd take the vette. But being 4 door we get to have a bit more power in NASA (but then most of that gets taken away for being AWD.

I also think it’s a bit more track dependent. And being AWD, we are a bit easier to drive at 10/10ths than a vette. It sure is easier to make a Z06 competitive in TT2/3 thus why most go that route.

Next year will be my first full year running with NASA. If I can’t beat those vettes, then I’ll have to join them.

Also, when are you ever at 2k rpms?

^ there are some second gear turns where it would be nice to keep in 3rd if I had the low end torque and instant response of a normal aspirated v8

I'm not sure if you'd ever dip to 2krpms, but I can see 3-4k rpms. If you're running a stock turbo IX, you should have full TQ before 4k rpms no problem.

See my dyno post: https://www.evolutionm.net/forums/10478193-post21.html

The instant power is nice sometimes, but can also get you in trouble.

I'm aware the vette will be a monster in ST2 and a more suited car for the class. But, I've spent time and money on setting up the car to where is it at(perhaps not the most optimal but to my like) and now really want to enjoy as it is.

I will definitely contact the regional director.

Thanks for the input guys!

subscribing to learn. We finally got NASA in the NW this year and I'll be running TT the whole season. Looks like I'll be in TTA. First event in May will be interesting to see what comes out to compete against.

Does anyone have links to TTA builds to get a feel for what a solid TTA Evo 9 looks like (weight, power, mods)?

^ Nate (boomn29) has a pretty good TTA build, he parted his car out and sold it after the season. but there is no longer a TTA class for 2013. TTB, then TT3, TT2, TT1

Here is the formula evolution dynamics used to win TTA in Texas in 2012:
Swift springs
Whiteline sway bars f&r
Whiteline roll center correction kit
Works camber plates
Hawk DTC70 brake pads
DBA rotors
Brake cooling ducts
Bigger injectors
Walbro 255
E85
Intake
Turbo back exhaust with no cat
Intercooler pipes
Grimmspeed boost controller
245 Hoosier A6's on Enkie 18x9.5 RPF1
Traqmate data acquisition
Removed passenger and rear seat, removed spare tire stuff

But as mentioned before, there is no TTA anymore. This class is now TT3. You will need to spend some time reading the new rules. I like how NASA changed things up. It keeps everybody on their toes and constantly searching for new mods.

Awesome, thanks man!

Could have sworn I was reading the latest rules but maybe that's why the TT online classifier as down. those mods are pretty much what I'm running except I'm running on 275/45/17 R888's or NTO1's. Sounds like I'll have to see what the competition is like to see if the bigger contact patch is = or less than/better than a smaller contact patch but higher grip.

The corvette guys almost go on strike everytime the rules change.

I haven't read through the new rules yet but I hear they're a little more turbo friendly above TTB now.
