Just depends on what you are doing with it. For NASA TTU if you want to win you have to run A6s. It's impossible to keep up with modded C6Z06s on good tires without them.

Yeah, those guys have fast cars. With the virtually unlimited grip, and their superior aero and low end torque, its definitely a challenge. It does depend somewhat on the track though, as our cars definitely handle tighter tracks better. We really suffer in the high speed sweepers because of crap aero and bad gearing. Dunno though, I won't be running in TTU this season at least, so I can hold off worrying about it for now.

I use 275 Starspecs for AutoX. Next season I'll use those for the wet and the Hoosiers for the dry.

I plan on running NT01s next season, but that's the tire I've been recommended for my skill level and that I can use on the street when driving my evo to events.

You will HC those tires and shortened the life span easily. Don't ask how I know..

Very true. But, to aim for podium in TTU, you need a corvette. lol

HC? I don't know what that means.

So you're saying I shouldn't use them on street?

if your strictly arrive and drive still i say stick to rs3's or grab another set of wheels for nt01's. my rs3's are finally smoked after 5k street miles and 7 track days (about 25 sessions/heat cycles). i may have gotten more out of them if i wasnt still having weird wear issues that i cant pinpoint.

Are street tires going to be a problem once I go to 10k/12k spring rates with my coilovers?

That's the only reason I'm looking to switch to r-comps.

rs3's are a "street tire" not a street tire if you get what i mean. even at my level of wear and on a pretty cold track this past weekend i couldnt lock them up using DTC60's which i had thought was going to be a definite possibility.

others may have more first hand experience but i dont think it will be an issue.
