Evo 10 crash at Beaverun
i spoke with him on my friend's FB wall where the video was posted, he said the car landed back on the track after the impact. i agree that he probably shouldn't have gotten out of the car that quick, considering other cars are are still going by pretty quick. he said they red flag shortly after he got out, but i'm surprise that they red flag sooner considering the car landed back on the track.

I also know this is not a proper way, but **** that when you have a chance for a huge fire.
I rather leave in time, then stay in the fire if that occurs, and take a risk when i get out the get badly burned. because most of the time fire comes couple sec later, and when it comes is fast and furious. Hard to see what you doing + panic + smog etc. Thanks, but i take my chances when the accident is this big, to get out as fast as i can.
I also know i shouldn't say this..... LOL
this is the crash are you referring to?

^ that's true. but if the car crash because of fluids on the track, that means that other cars will hit the same fluid and head in the same direction and crash into you. and i've seen that happens more often then cars catching on fire on track. we can discuss what we should or could do, but until we are put in that situation, we're not going to know how we'll react.
Im a little confused as to what exactly happend for him to just go straight like that? Front tire lifted before turn? Anyone know/care to explain?
And that was a brutal hit. Glad the driver had gear and cage was properly built.

^ the front driver side tire had a huge cut and the tire went down and came off the rim.
there's another video that shows telemetry but i can't find it, he might have took it down.

The key is that you should not leave the car until the track is secure from race control. Since i hear corner workers talking in the background i will say that the corner workers were on scene and the track was under caution. At that time you may leave your car and head to safety if instructed to do so or if you have at least made eye contact with the corrner worker and they are not telling you to stay seated.

But you are 100% right everyone should stay in the car until the workers get there. That is a rule and a proper way to act.
They call it fight or flight. It's not possible to have one rule fit all possible situations. A humans first instinct is to get away from danger. Yes if you have a mechanical brake down or graze a barrier it's easy to think clearly and follow the rule to stay put until a worker arrives and signals you to get out. It's another when you just had a hard hit amd your actions are instintual not learned and repeated.
Good example of why you should keep your visor down while on track...shards of broken plastic projectiles as well as external debris can do a number on your face and (God forbid) your eyes....
Dangerous turn, regardless of mechanical error.
