Auto-X Help

Hey everyone,

I need a little help. I just upgraded from my '10 Genesis Coupe 2.0t R-Spec, to an '08 GSR. In the past ive owned 3 galant vr-4's and '01 A4. This will be my 3rd year doing auto cross, the previous 2 were with the genesis. I have not owned an AWD car in a while, and when i did i only did drag racing.

For this season I plan on running stock class. I plan on getting hawk brake pads, rear sway bar, and a cat back.

The help I need is with selecting a tire and tire size to run.

Edit: I will be running the tires on the stock rims, and have my daily tires on aftermarket rims, just to make it easier to stay in stock class.

Thank you for your time.

FWIW, those mods will most likely knock you out of stock class. Not so much the brake pads, but the swaybar and catback.

You will be fine in stock class with those mods. The only thing that can mess you up is the rim size, it has to be same size as oem +- 5mm in offset ( IIRC). Are you going to run r comps or street tires? Stock class allows you to run any tire that fits on oem rim. I believe that NJDrive ran a 275 wide tire on stock rims.

Forgot to add that... I am going to run Street tire, and the rim will be to stock specs. To make it easy now that i think about it, i will put the better tires on the stock rims and use the alternate set of rims for my everday driving.

Oops, my bad I forgot I was running lowering springs too at the time (stock springs now) as well as my swaybar/endlinks. Thats why I got bumped.

You are probably better off running STU rather than stock if you are going to be on street tires, the pax difference isn't much and you can do some other modifications if you want later. Unless, of course, you were planning on doing RT classes.
