Some people think that. Others (including myself) disagree.

I have a scrubbed in set of R1S's for sale. 285/30/18 - I don't have clearance.

You run XP. How can you say you don't "have" clearance??? You just have to make clearance. Because... Racecar

They're too wide! At least on 18x10.5 +15 wheels they are. 275/35 R6's fit fine on the same sized wheels.

I run my 285/30s on 18x10.5 +30 on stock rears (pulled like crazy) and spaced out stock front fenders

It's the +15 that's screwing you, that's an extra 15mm you need on fender clearance.

Yeah... We all know how you feel about fenders. Talk about function > form.

I could've sworn he had the Voltex rear fenders, so I'd think that'd be enough for +15. +15 up front should be fine. I run +5

I'm still not sure which is faster. But I can say this, for warm weather. I will choose the BFG's.

For under 80 degree weather I will take the Hoosiers.

For pro's or abrasive surfaces. I'll take the BFG's.

Maybe I'm not following, but if you balance left and right while keeping front to rear distribution even between the sides, haven't you inherently balanced cross weights as well?

Seem like simply the right way to balance a car?

I suppose you could set ride height then crank one corner up or down to cross balance the car and this would give you uneven LH/RH balance but still give a good cross weight?

I think he is saying that if you have a car that is 60% nose heavy and 53% left heavy, the LF tire should have weight that matches both of those percentages on it. That process applied to all four tires does not yield equal cross weights unless the Left%=50%.

I do have rear over fenders, but the combo of the BFG's running wide, and the +15 offset are killing me. The fronts fit, but I haven't tested them on track obviously. If the wheels were 18x10 or 9.5 they would easily fit.

I'm just going to sell them and run A6's and R6's from now on though.

I'm in the same boat. But I have 9.5's I can run them on. If I decide to run the car past this season I will do what I need to do to fit the 10.5's (more caster)
