wouldn't going "too wide" result in less-than-optimal tire temps?

Same. My codriver and I are debating whether the hop up to 315 will be worth it or not.

The tires get to temp unless it is really cold out. Unfortunately I have no data to share, but I will say it has been a long process. It is not a make it fit and go change. I moved to 315s in July of last year. Car did not feel "right" until mid season this year, and I know there's more in it.
