1st and 2nd place finish at Buttonwillow Raceway Park

Last weekend marked the second round of the eXtreme Speed 2013 AWD Competition series. I was able to secure first place in AWD Street Class on Sunday with a 1:58.2 on Buttonwillow's CW13 configuration. This was 1.2 seconds faster than my previous best.

On Sunday was the official start of Redline Time Attack's 2013 season. I entered in AWD Street Class, and was able to secure 2nd place with a 1:58.6, only two tenth's off first place! I actually got held up by my competitor at the exit of the esses (lifted a tad for a split second), which more than likely is what costed me the first place finish. But as the saying goes, **** happens.

There are serveral more rounds to go in RLTA, so I will get my shot again.

Shout outs to:

Michael @ Extreme Turbo Systems
Chris @ KW Suspensions
Kheim @ KT Motoring
Robi @ Robispec

Also thank you to Nitto Tires for the set of tires I won on Saturday for my first place finish in XS AWD Street. There will be tires awarded to the winners of Street and Modified Class for the remainder of the XS AWD seasion. If you happen to be interested in winning a set of NT05's for street class, or NT01's for modified, come on out! The more competition, the better!

On a side note, I was getting my official dyno in yesterday due to some of my competitor's complaining that I hadn't done so yet. It turns out I was down 33 foot pounds of torque and 7 whp since my last dyno. Luckily the new front splitter and rear wing really helped over my previous effort at Buttonwillow in November. Either way, I will be looking into the root cause of the lower numbers before the next round and make sure my torque numbers will be back up to snuff and then some. I found it rather odd I didn't hit 57's last weekend and why the corner exit sensation wasn't what I was accustomed to. I thought it was the fact that the car was rotating better than ever before, and the added aero. Go figure.

Thanks for reading. Cheers!

Thanks! Hopefully I will get to see you guys this year at Super Lap.

Here is a little video coverage of the event from Road Minion. My interview is toward the end.
