Data aquisition

I'm at a point where I need data. I would like to get ECU data as well as GPS data.
I don't think the AIM SoloDL works with the 8 & 9 ECU's though (could be wrong). What are you guys using?

AIM, Traqmate, G2X, etc..

Thanks in Advance.

The website for that AIM Solo thing says it will work with OBDII and CAN protocols, that means the evo is covered. The requests these things make to the ecu are pretty simple and standard

Logging off obd2 is entirely worthless though. Sampling rate is far to slow to be useful for anything except coolant temp or other slow responding signals.

We use the race technology dash2 with dl1 as well as traqmate classic on our cars.

AIM's website lists only the EVO X. A quick call confirmed that it does not support the 8 & 9 ECU. The C5 Vette guys appear to be in the same boat.

I have some sample data from a friends DL1. It appears to be a nice package. Higher sampling rates as well. There doesn't appear to be a lot of first hand EVO experience.

I seriously hope no one is using the obd2 data for tuning or anything for that matter. It's less then 1hz frequency. Completely worthless. That's why aim and race technology doesn't support evo 8/9. You can take the DL1 and hook it into all the important sensors though, essentially piggybacking off the stock computer (which is what we do).

We coupled the dash 2, dl1 and Zeitronix together on my pikes peak car. Had accelerometer data, GPS, wideband, boost, oil pressure, water temp, tach, air temp, and a couple others recording at 75-100hz. That's useable data. Set a few alarms on the dash 2 with several different displays for data to cycle through. We have moved the entire setup onto another road car car we may take to NASA nationals. Even more sensors on it this time (4shoxk pots for aero and suspension tuning)

Now that would be some cool data to see.
