Not to get off subject...what happened to the Sierra Sierra team?
First Japan dominated, the US came close now the Aussie guys rule!
I think everyone here in the US do massive builds and then sell

Imagine blowing $50-100k two years in a row just to make it to WTAC and then lose the second year by a very small margin because your transmission ejected 4th gear through the case. Their exit from the scene was also highly influenced by the interaction with team cyber evo that led to an inspection for nitrous on their car due to their ridiculous strait speeds. Tons of stress and huge r&d investments for no real pay off.

As far as I know the real limiting factor in how much downforce nemo makes is down to what the tire can actually handle. There was serious thought given to not de-bead or blow out the tires in high speed sections of the track.
The rules have changed in WTAC and Nemo is going through a redesign at this point. It was speculated that they where running just under 500whp last year. With the new rules trying to neuter the old car and create parity with some others in the field, they have been hard at work to make the car faster overall. Looking at what is going on right now I am assuming it will have more power (a lot more) and Andrew will probably be developing the same ludicrous amount of downforce with less wing(s).
Yes it is very hard to compete with the aussie's right now in the Time Attack arms race as the funding right now for motorsports in the country and overall enthusiasm for this form of racing is second to none. Plus they are just maniacs in general.
There is no pay off for a team from the United States to go down there and attempt to put a hurt to a couple of those cars.
It would take a single person with A LOT of money who has nothing better to do then just build something beyond NEMO just for the infamy of it.
Because that is basically what the owner of NEMO did. He built the car for a variety of reasons but one main one is he wants his kids to be able to select the car in a video game some day and it be the fastest thing around the race track in the game.

Love the discussion guys,

Time attack is sooooo dirty. Cannot wait for WTAC.
I'd realllllly like to see Tilton come out ontop, but as stated again and again, Nemo is absolutely unreal. Follow their page on Facebook, they have constant updates on the evo and where they're going with it. Plus all of the pictures they put up are all desktop worthy

Can someone post a link to the NEMO evo facebook page for me to follow? I saw an article a while back on the car and was just blown away, I'd love to follow the car and the races this year
Time Attack is my favorite form of motorsport. I love watching all the teams, the car prep, the drivers all coming together. Redline Time Attack and Global Time Attack are what got me to get my TT license and get into the sport. WTAC is my favorite event going on right now, so I'm really psyched for this year's lineup. I think Nemo has it on lockdown, but it will be fun to watch the cars run.
Time Attack is the coolest sport ever
It is something us average car enthusiast can relate to
No, but I imagine it is AT LEAST in the $500k+ range. The all out time attack cars in the US like AMS's Evo X are in the $250k range.
Nemo is a completely different level: A full DRY carbon fiber one-off body designed by a professional aerodynamicist, over $40k in sequential transmission/air shifter alone, custom EVERYTHING...not to mention having cosworth on standby for events...
