Rocket ONO41
Rocket ONO41
Hello All
I want to present you my race car, a project that we have worked more that 7 months. The car was prepared in Romania: the EVO 6 cage was made easier and it has now approx. 1000 kg, the engine is all HKS 2.3 l, the body kit was designed and fabricated in Romania, in Sebes by B & D Tuning. The engine is not yet set at its maximum power because the ECU set up was made on the street, not on Dyno.
I will show you some pictures with the progress of the car and some movies from my first race with this car, that I have won.

Hill Climb 2013
The Rocket is back with a bang! Daniel Onoriu wins Rasnov and targets overall domination
He came, he saw, he won! Daniel Onoriu returned to racing in 2013 with a new project and won straight away. The EVO ROCKET showed a lot of potential and Onoriu is ready to return to the top in the Romanian Hill Climb Championship (CNVC).
2012 was a difficult season for one of the most interesting Romanian drivers, Daniel Onoriu. Technical problems meant that Onoriu had to build a new car in order to challenge for a new overall title in Hill Climb, after his 2009 formidable triumph.
The 2013 season started without Onoriu having a car to race in, the new project being delayed month by month. "It was difficult for me to watch from the sidelines or from home as races unfolded. I live to race! But I had to keep the project on track, to develop it step by step and avoid making compromises", confessed Onoriu.
Daniel Onoriu "The EVO ROCKET project was developed in Romania and Hungary. The 1000kg race car with EVO 6 body kit was prepared in Sebes (Romania), while the engine HKS 2.3 tuning was done in Bucharest (Romania). The electronics package and set up was done in Hungary and even if the car is not at it maximum potential now I decided to test it directly on track, in the Hill Climb at Rasnov", continued Onoriu.
And as always, fortune favors the brave, Onoriu destroyed his opposition by winning the Touring Cars category at Rasnov Hill Climb in his first race of the year. Overall the only car faster than the EVO ROCKET being a F3000 Lola formula car.
"The car is far from finished, I invested heavily in it, but it has still a lot of room for improvement. The win came a little as a surprise, since I thought that my absence from racing will have some negative effects on my driving. My goal for 2014 is to beat the fastest car out there, the Lola F3000", concluded Onoriu.
As the 2013 Romanian Hill Climb Championship (CNVC) heads into its final rounds, 2014 should prove an interesting season. All eyes will be on Onoriu's ROCKET as fans know one thing for certain - this guy will drive the wheels off any car and with a ROCKET he can be the King of the Hill, or better said, of the Moon!

We go today to dyno test to see the real power of the car. it is set up now 70-80% of its wanna be power because the engine is new and I didn't want to break the engine again like it did last year. I estimate that this race car will have only around 500 HP. We are working at the design of the car, maybe you can help me with some sugesstion.
