SCCA Solo: ASP Gets one Back!
My car has been sold and while still being raced: will no longer be on the national scene. I hope to pick up co-drives where I can. But for now I'll sit and cheer from the sidelines. Good luck everyone!
Congrats on the car Justin. When set up right these things can be one of the most fun cars you'll ever auto-x. You can also spend alot of time fixing things too
As said here, slipping the clutch is your friend. Also, wheel hop on launch = left foot IN NOW.
Let me know if you have any questions. John and I shared some ideas back in the day and I'd be curious to look over your car now, maybe even catch a run or two in either seat... I'm always looking to get back in one of these!!!

If you must use the same tires for autocross and daily driving, then you can choose from the 200 treadwear tires that the STU class cars run: BFGoodrich Rivals, Dunlop Direzza Star Spec ZIIs, or Hankook R-S3s.
The ASP guys may be able to suggest a few more tires that fall in between the true race tires and the 200TW tires, but honestly I wouldn't go below 200TW for daily driving purposes.
What class will you be running in?

I love to have you in the car, in either seat as you said. I'll be at most, if not all, NNJR events at the Meadowlands this year so just come find me! Hell, you can codrive anytime you want. Regardless, I probably would've hunted you down if I saw you just so I could pick your brain from when you ran Cy's car.
Justin
This is an ASP thread. A proper ASP car will be on tires that are too soft for daily driving.

Since I'm not in the class anymore and this looks like the new 2014 ASP thread I wanna throw out some of the untested ideas I had.
At many of the larger national events we all know that 2nd gear can be a little short even at higher than stock fuel cut. Mine was set @ 7800. I know many who take it to 8k. Which is the limit for stock valvesprings.
I had always considered going to 19's wheels. As the 265/19 offered a several mph bump. Expensive test though.
On top of that. Anyone considered running the new short 275/17?

Planning on Devens for end of March? Hope to see you there!
