Stock Yokos at HPDE
Stock Yokos at HPDE
Howdy all!
I am looking forward to getting my X out to some HPDE events this fall. What I'm wondering is how the stock ADVAN A13Cs hold up on track? The stock Bridgestones on my Rx-8 were great - they were not super grippy or anything but they didn't chunk or fall apart, so I didn't have to worry about getting home on them. That's all I'm really looking for - I want to learn the car 100% stock before I start throwing parts at it. Anyone with experience tracking on the stock tires, I'd love to hear your feedback.

Stock tires have held up well for me in the Northeast, but it's much cooler here. I did 8 track days last year and 1 this year, drove to each event. By the end of a 20 min session on a summer day, depending how much you start pushing it, I'd say they get greasy too.
Currently at 7200 miles and they still have some life, although the outside edges are pretty worn at this point. I picked up a set of Dunlop ZIIs to try next, though I'd never pay $400/ea to replace the Yokos.
