June 2015 Max Function Front Lip Options for Street Car

Please help me to decide on new front lip options for my Silver IX SSL.

It is not a track car but I plan to do HPDE and FATT at Summit Point so I want something that will actually work, ie:
  • balance properly with my stock wing
  • look relatively normal, I don't mind a little CF bling but not if that is silly.

I'm running GTWorx springs with Bilstein HD shocks, RCK, various whiteline bushings, and a TRE 1.5 way rear diff with about 400 HP at the wheels.

Any ideas?

Focus on driving. You wouldn't even notice a difference.

Good advice, no doubt, but I'm not changing it just to change it. My stock lip is all banged up, fasteners broken on both ends, making a vibration racket, looking like crap and getting on my nerves. I need a new one, no matter what.

So my request for help still stands, please advise.

Thanks.

Just a "lip" doesn't do much unless you build/install a splitter to go along with it. So, choose a lip that you like the looks of, and go from there..

For it to make a significant difference, I'm assuming it's going to have to fall into your "look silly" category. Any of the usual suspects (Ralliart, APR, IX SE, etc) aren't going to actually be functional.

I would imagine the Ralliart one to be functional at least to the point of being properly matched/balanced with the fully functional rear wing and it certainly looks bigger than the stock GSR lip.

I believe RA-Style means it's modeled on the Ralliart so I'm leaning toward this one:

Thoughts?

There's also Rexpeed RA-Style:

and Rexpeed SE Style:

What is better quality Seibon or Rexpeed?

Honestly no one in motorsports probably will care. Those would be non functional other than maybe a slight air dam.

If you have the budget and can find one the deck lip is made to work with the stock spoiler, matches the weave, and produces some downforce (like 25lbs iirc.) Not much but it's something. It's really more of an airdam. Would probably be great to stick a splitter under as well.

Most of those dam's will come off at speed or pull out on curbs without re-enforcing it. So make sure you rivet the back end or nut/bolt it and don't rely on the plastic/fiber tabs to totally hold it up. The guys on General won't tell you that.

But to the earlier comments, we "should" be the aero experts compared to other topics, and he asked for one that works the best for his use. However the thread title made me think he was presenting some other option lol.

I'm thinking about going with an ebay urethane RA-Style, since I'll likely scuff it up. $94.00 delivered.
