AutoX class question

I started doing local AX this year and has been using SSM class as I am not sure where my mods put me. One of Subaru guys asked me why I'm running SSM and after explaining my mods he told me that I should be in ASP not SSM.
Car is basically stock Evo9 plus the mods as follow:
TBE
MBC
E85 Tune
3.8" IC
LICP
Injectors
Fuel pump
Cone air filter
Evo X wheels on 245x40 ZII
Swift sport springs

ASP or SSM? Thanks

I believe if your boost is higher than stock that would push you out of ASP into SM, but if your boost level hasn't changed from stock your list looks like a ASP car.

I am not much more than you and really only in SM because I am running higher than stock boost levels and went with a much wider wheel and tire setup than what I am allowed to run in ASP.

SM you would easily be out performed as most people in SM have quite a few more modifications for power, grip and weight reduction.

Boost is unlimited in SP. The only limitation is a turbo which has to be stock (aka. no porting of any kind). There had been some talk about E85 lately and I don't know the final resolution on that one, but it is possible that you can not do it any more in SP - I just don't know. Other than that, all of the other mods from the above are fine for ASP.

The only reason for someone to consider SM over ASP (aside of mods they want to have on the car that would push them there) is that SM pax is 0.870, while ASP is at 0.866, which is pretty close for the amount of extra modifications one can do in SM over ASP. It is still even more money compared to ASP. Choose your battles!

SM use to be an "easy" mode class cause not many cars were fully built but things are changing. The 240s that will be at Nats this year are getting faster and faster and Hyman's GTR, if it holds together, is likely the fastest SM car ever built.

OP: Definitely ASP, not sure why they would have even dumped you to SSM instead of SM.

E85 is perfectly legal as it stands right now. Even my NA BSP 350z runs on it....

you guys are confusing STU with ASP. the banning of E85, maintaining stock boost limit, and limited tire widths are all STU rules, not ASP rules.

the most common things to push people out of ASP and into SM are cams, turbo swaps, built motors, roll center correction kits and JDM rear bumpers.

Street Prepared starting allowing turbo cars the ability to change boost in 2006. At which point the car was moved from ESP to BSP. Where it remained until SSP was added and the cars were re-classed in ASP. (2013)

SP allows any size tire or wheel.

In addition to the items Marshall mentioned. Others also jump to SM to run more traditional aero. While SP allows very restrictive aero mods.

An Evo can never legally run SSM. As that is currently reserved for 2 seat sports cars. Such as the RX-7, Miata and MR2.

You can absolutely run SSM in an Evo, but why would you want to? Panda runs in SSM all the time...

Yeah you can, I've run in SSM at national level events due to not having a class in SM.
