motor

well....i got the car back last friday after 3 weeks....number 1 cylinder piston was scorn....wrist pin was gone....they blamed it on the silicone form the oil pan coming off and clogging the oil return line...i don't think it was that....but hey what the hell....they did a short block ...and it runs great....i'm just glad they covered it...hopefully it makes it thru the OTC...it starts on sunday....wish me luck...thanks...wayne..www.pulpracing.com

This kind of thing happend to me with warrentee work on a broken throw out bearing on my maxima 5 spd. The dealer found some metal shavings in the transmission (even though the tranny was working perfectly and I didn't mention it when I came in for the throw out bearing failure). This allowed them to just have a whole new trans-axle (clutch plus tanny) crated to them under warentee and then it was a straigh bolt and refill for them (much cheaper for labor i guess)

Is that thing pink or did the camera distort the red? Please tell me it is red, even if you have to lie about it.

IMO, the lines of the Modena are perfect, the most beautiful car currently built. I also kind of hope that's red, unless you're a rapper... Missy E. has a lime green Murcielago

Hey Wayne,

The install is fairly quick, and although it is slightly easier to do with the timing belt alread off, it isn't all that hard to do later with the motor fully assembled.

If you wanted to, you could even do it at the track on Sunday after you've turned in some hot laps or whatever to put yourself on the board.

Glad to hear the car is back on the road again. I'll be out at Vegas with Mueller's gang of monkeys.

Actually putting cams on at this stage in the game would be a bad idea since I don't believe you have any way to adjust the fuel output to compensate for the cams.

For what you are doing with the car at the OTC the stock cams will be good anyway. Gives you nice midrange usable power.

If it is detonating and blowing up pistons/rings already, you don't need to make the fuel curve worse.

Just my 2 cents...

you can also plan on a fat VOID of the warranty that just saved your car to begin with!!
