Tyre width more is better ?
If you have fitment questions, we tackle those here:

My CT9A is fully cleared for 275/40/17's
BTW, most hard core track guys, here, seem to run 18's
Cheers

Most run 18’s for BBK’s and more tire options. My old school teaching was keep rotating weight down and my car is dialed in on 17’s. 17x10 on 295/35. Who cares I can’t stop. I just keep turning.
Maybe the track guys run less spring than the AX guys in general, but I like the 18s specifically because they have shorter/stiffer sidewalls. It just translate into tire being less under damped spring in the system.
As far as width goes, 285-295 is a good place for Evos. 315s require certain sacrifices to geometry (tires have to go out, inside already limited) and tire height. Im on 295s now but will switch back to 285s once these are burned out to get the car lower. 295 to 285 is 1/2" shorter tire which means car moves down 1/4", and I can lower car another 1/4".
