Evo X Big Brake kit?

Howdy all,

With my increased power, 500whp + for track use, I'm looking into possibly upgrading my front brakes to something better than the OEM Brembos.

What kit is the killer solution for the X? I know people really have good experiences with the AP Racing 6pot upgrade on the CT9A, but how about the CZ4A?

AP Racing?
Stoptech?
Something else?

Anybody have experiences they could share?

Yes, want to stay with 18. I know the stoptech trophy 355mm kit fits under OEM wheels.

The rotors can get a bit bigger. Stock is 13.8. Can get 14 or 14.5" rotors in an 18" wheel.

Racing Brake seems to no longer make the 6 piston kit for the X. Stop tech stuff is nice, my dads friend has their big stuff on his C5 track car. If you can swing AP Racing, they are top tier though.

AP racing is better than the stoptech billet caliper trophy kit?

They are seem to be around the $3,500 range (the top ones)

Depending on the wheel, and caliper, you can fit some massive brakes under 18" wheels. The PF01 clears Mustang PP 15" (380mm) rotors.

minor point - aren't those rotors in the wrong direction? or are the vanes straight/not directional

How can you tell from photos that don't show the vanes?

I wouldn't use the slots on the face as your guide.

You're going by the slots again. You go by the vane direction. Stoptech aero rotors use directional vanes.

did you watch from 2:40? it goes by the vanes. the slot direction is usually standard, but isn't always, which is why, yes, you go by the vanes. not sure where in that video they said go by slot directions, they say the opposite of that.

Right, but I am referencing stoptech aero rotors because those are the rotors we are discussing.
