also, the central diff has a lot of infulence on car stability on decel and accel, so evo's might not really need 1.5 way rear diffs

thanks, i agree here, not to mention abs, ebd, etc. we have a lot of stability in the cars. that said, i think a 1.1way may be fine for very mild locking on decel, may be useful for quick transitions like slaloms

Sounds like you need to get an EVO X rear diff in there...even better, just switch to X altogether!

Don't know much about STU prep, but remember seeing an X (with that fast acting diff you are trying to get) as the fastest car on day 2 at Nationals this year!

if you want to discuss 8/9s vs 10s, there's a thread somewhere out there. cars aren't allowed to mess with diffs in STU, hence a big advantage the Xs have over the 9s in STU. Cars aren't allowed to pull fenders, so the X can fit much wider wheels under their arches in STU than the 8/9s.

this car is getting built for SCCA's time trials and other racing series that allow diff mods, which really help where the USDM 9's are lacking. And most race teams, racing cars, swap out AYC for mechanical. Professional awesome swapped their X ayc for a mechanical 1-way - after the AYC contributed to a huge ****ing crash at road altanta 5 years ago

You do know that I was joking about all of that...smiley at the end should have been enough, but...

Truth is that I thought this was for your STU car...it is not easy to adjust to all of the nannies in X even in Street class and if I would push thing over 100 mph on the track, I would change lots of things...regardless, your reply was way too serious man!!

sorry, didn't realize it was a joke. the STU car is no more, i should update my sig. my E92 M3 is taking over autox duties, though I will be TNTing the Evo at autox events to tweak certain things definitely.

Off topic but since all you guys are in this thread:

Car no longer steps out on corner exit. Instead, it spins the inside, rear wheel and pushes horribly. I tested this in 1st gear, car rolling, tight L turn.
When I let off the gas, it immediately rotates quickly.
Ideas?
I'll leave it at that so as not to muck up this thread. Thanks in advance. I can't stand the car driving like this.

Yeah, sounds like rear diff is done. It shouldn't spin the inside rear.

Well sounds like I need to start thinking about saving for a new diff unless TRE can do some magic to the OEM... Though my cash is a bit tight needing to change from 4.11s to 4.31s, new 18x12s, new clutch (maybe that will wait if it holds out).
