Was just about to attempt this myself, with my free time but i would probably use ABS plastic . Plus i do not have a shop or a spare bumper so i better do it right..

I can measure how far up I cut the bumper. Any farther and the flat surface hits gas tank and you can't get the angle you want.

Made it all from 1/16ish alum (might be 3/32). Used electric cutting shears with steady hand to cut pieces.
The most expensive part was the brake really. Even if you paid someone to bend pieces, should be much
less than $200 total.
