I've seen the exact same thing running through hypothetical cars. Mods are way more expensive to insure. Since stock Evos are becoming so valuable, it almost works to insure a modded car for what it would be worth stock. Only problem is if you have a repairable accident, you are not going to get aftermarket parts to replace what's damaged.

I don't want to risk putting the stock car's value at $35k and only adding 10k in parts. And then they say the car is only worth 25 and I'm assed out.

Every track.

I'm more worried about component failure taking me out than me crashing the car tbh.

Had a friend bin his evo 9 last year at Gingerman. Tweaked frame rail, ****ed up hood, fender, bumper, core support, intercooler, cracked transmission etc. He had track insurance and they covered all of it with pretty much no hassle whatsoever.

I haven't considered it myself because I bought my car with cash and don't ever plan on selling it so resale doesn't mean jack to me, but I certainly see the validity of it after my buddy had everything fixed and replaced so easily.

Some insurance companies insure based on agreed value. I can ask my friend who he uses, if you want.

I bought track insurance through Hagerty. I ended up crashing and totaling my Focus on that track day. RLI handled the claim as the policy was bought through the company. FYI, they needed proof that I crashed on the track that day. Luckily I had a video showing my accident. They sent out an insurance adjuster to assess the damage of the car. He determined it was totaled. I had to pay the 10 percent deductible and retrospect it would have been better to go with the 5 percent deductible. RLI paid off the loan and gave me the money I paid into it minus the deductible.
