It was a fun weekend with some pretty tight battles and lot's of position changes throughout both days. Day 1 we were all chasing Michael Carpenter's first run w/ Vitolins and myself battling it out for 2nd, and Davis ending the day in a reasonably close 4th. On Sunday it was much of the same but this time Carpenter hit a cone on his first and fastest run and I ended up with the time to beat, which most everyone eventually did, or got real close, including Zuehl in the Focus RS on 295s. Michael and I were the last to run in class and I knew that I was going to have to either match his fastest raw time or better it, depending on how "safe" he was planning on taking it. I picked my spots to fix and went for it and was pleased to have dropped a half second, well beyond my expectations, and retook the lead... but only for about 20 seconds lol, Michael came in a few seconds behind me with almost an identical time, taking the win for the day and for the weekend.
@4wd4me I bought this.... and just as I hoped the screw(s) is the right size. my dome light bracket is not as rigid so the camera end is kind like a tuning fork. I will need to add something between the roof and the light assembly hoping for more stability
I also tried a suction cup mount (without the suction) using 2 screws, which is a bit more stable and centered. added a bungee cord hoping to stop the oscillation. no dice lol
are you using a gopro or other lightweight camera? if I remember correctly ours was fairly stable (hollow rod also) but we did eventually just replace the dome light with a c-channel and aluminum cover plate.
I was planning to use my Hero2 which has a jack for the mic extension. I think the main issue is the mounts are too straight. I need to add some triangulation/support. maybe 2 of those mounts in separate attachment points should do it. There's also a lip on the upholstery, where I had to add some HD foam. For now, I'll test what I have so far
Thanks
