That 285 RT660 looks wider and shorter than the CR1 on. Makes the 295 A052 look super tall (I know its 1/2" taller).
Heh, I pulled the 265 RE71s off the Tesla this weekend while I pull things apart and they just look tiny compared to what Im use to now on the evo.
That final pic I posted is a little deceiving as I believe the RT660 was sitting a little bit forward which makes it look shorter. It is used as well. But it's looks very much similar when mounted vs the CR1. The sidewall is just a different design it seems.
When you going to throw some real meat on that thing?
I have been away from racing for a while and I can see lots of changes happen in the last few years. Bigger tires, clutches, pressure plates, software for everything,...kind of crazy when I think just a few years back most of these new things where no go!
Since I have been trying a bit in D-Street for a while, I always looked at the STU as next much funnier step. With all these rule changes how does EVO X stands nowadays compared to the earlier versions?
Yes, they've finally made some good changes to this class. So many different chassis in this class could win a tour/national championship, IMO of course. Obviously the STI, E92 M3, Evo 8/9/10, 370/350z, Fiata, the list goes on.
I don't see why the X wouldn't be toward the peaky end of things with the right driver. I'd be shocked if you couldn't easily fit a 295 A052 on a proper wheel width all the way around. Unsure of what wheel widths would work for that.... I've thought quite seriously about building one, but I'd like to get a truck/hauler prior to going down that road.
I did go quickly over the rules and it looks like clutches and PP are free. Couldn't see anything about multi plate clutches there...it looks like we could use different ones, but I am not sure if we could add more plates there...

Agreed, it's quite vague: "The clutch disk and pressure plate may be modified or replaced" But I'd assume it is only allowing you to replace it with a single disk clutch.

If it doesn't say you can, you can't. Also worth noting that the flywheel cannot be changed. Multi disc clutches are not allowed in STU.
Would a twin-disc even have any advantage at STU power levels? Seems like more expense, more complication, and more rotating mass that isn't necessary.

So, what do we do with DCT in Evo X? Not allowed for the class?
I am getting there to replace mine (almost 90k there) and adding an extra pair of OEM plates (or two, can't remember this part) helps apparently. I guess, letter would need to be written....

Oh, that kind of multi plate clutch. I don't see any allowances to modify clutches in automatic transmissions. I'd write a letter.
