Yeah, correct. The 285/30/18 Falken RT660s fit about the same as the RE71Rs we had on there a few years ago. 18x10 RPF +38 sits up against the rear trailing arm, adding spacers for clearance w/ careful consideration on the other side at the fender. Depending on how much camber you're running, I'd say 3-5mm of spacer should do it.

Brent, I would join you in Lincoln in two weeks but we have a local event here that Sunday....good site, large fairly smooth concrete pad. After a few more years, hopefully at this site, it will help myself and other local members better prepare for Lincoln. With some luck my first serving of "humble pie" this year will be at Spring Nats. And also looking forward to seeing what others come up with tire set up wise. Also if anyone chooses to pursue the power mods and the outcomes of those. My ACD hoses are starting to leak some. Will consider what I know at that time on power parts when doing that repair as well since it requires removal of the front bumper.

Doug and/or Tasha. I have the same wheels on my car. Enkei RPF1s 18x10 with 38mm offset. Currently on A052s, first set, 265/35-18 using the Ciro Design Racing spacers appropriately. Greatly appreciate the information and pictures. I will remeasure, see what I come up with, maybe search for a used set of 285s for experimentation, and go from there.

That is totally understandable! I wish my local club had a concrete lot to work with, but we have some very gravel ridden asphalt which I guess, is better than nothing. But it is so very different than Lincoln that the car setup feels off when I go back and forth from SF to Lincoln. The goal for me is to prioritize Lincoln over SF.

Hope to see you at Spring Nationals and a variety of competition in STU. Definitely looking forward to that event!

I’m not sure if any other tire besides Yoko’s will get it done in an ST class.

Until we see more data on new tires, when it comes to nebraska concrete the A052 seems king.

It will be nice to start seeing some testing/data points coming in with the A052 vs the RT660, and CR-1.

We'll need to talk because Dallas and I switched up to the Motec ACD so we'll need some kind of baseline to put on there. And no, we still haven't gotten them yet

As of yet, no I haven't. My main concern is with the car already being loose, will the ACD tune make it worse?

Either way, i'll PM you in a moment! Thanks.

I did PM you FYI!

I come to find that my buddy actually SOFTENED the front bar instead of stiffened it. I'm wondering if we had more of a "placebo effect" because we both thought it felt better, even though he did the opposite of what I wanted him to do. Granted, we started with cold temps and as the day got better, the car felt better. I DO think this was a major reason why we got some massive amounts of hopping back (by going softer up front). Because I felt none of the effects this past weekend! I went full stiff on the front bar and it was a bit too much, as she wanted to push more at the limit. It'll be interesting to see if I notice a difference when I switch to a fresh set of tires. The fronts are definitely low on life, but I want to run them til they cord. I should have a fresh set on by Spring Nationals.

Here's a video of my fast run last weekend in Lincoln. Crazy long course - I believe 71 seconds ish for STU. Definitely left time out there according to Solostorm, but that's the way things go! Video (critiques are welcome - i couldn't get the Solostorm overlay to work for whatever reason. I was definitely off the cones in spots on this run):

I'm really looking forward to Spring Nationals at Lincoln at the end of May. 4 days of autocross (2 - two day events going on). There will be some good competition in STU it looks like so far. Norton's Fiata, there's an E92 M3, STI that seems to be competitive, Mark and myself. Right now the plan is to drive the evo for sure for 1 event....possibly an SSM Miata the other. Plans may change.

I was thinking the same thing! Should be an awesome battle!

That being said, I am dead set on for sure running the Evo for event #2. Event #1 is a toss up between a SSM miata (Ron Bauer's old one), STS miata (class is absolutely STACKED) or my evo. A nice problem to have.

Last weekend we drove over the mountains and spent the weekend autocrossing with a small local club there, had a blast and did some shake-down work. The 285/30/18 Falkens are a little weird in that we were dropping huge amounts of time each run as they were coming up to temperature. So if it's cold out, you're kind of screwed. Later on they seemed to handle a LOT of heat before they got greasy though, and then spraying them down got 'em back to good. I could see them falling off during a run if it were long enough and hot enough out, so temp management is a thing.

Tasha and I had the pace to take top pax on both days but each of us had a cone on our fastest runs, fortunately for her the cone she squarely ran over popped right back up in its box :-) and she set a club record by being the first woman ever to win top PAX at one of their events (60+ years). HA!

Anyone here have issues with a P0401 check engine code? Exhaust Gas Recirculation Flow Insufficient Detected; popped up at the end of my last run and then again later after getting off the freeway. I'm wondering if the additional boost pressure we're now running has\could have anything to do with it? I'll pull it apart and do a good spring cleaning as well.

Well done and that's awesome for her! How close are you two in times, usually?

I've read and heard the same about the Falkens.

No P0401 code for me as of yet, knock on wood. I'd check the EGR lines to see if anything popped off or is torn.

You guys should really make the trek out to Spring Nationals!

No P0401 set on my car either. On other vehicles that I have repaired and know of in the past (in-line 4 cylinder engines with EGR passages through the intake manifold/cylinder head) its related to clogging of those passages. Maybe a good place to inspect and start there.
