2021 STU Discussion
Thanks Dallas, yeah, "we" checked all the lines and "we" didn't find anything loose. But, to be sure "I" went and double checked again and sure enough, that was the issue. Easy-peasy. ;-)

#30332 STU Thank you for your input. The STAC does not feel it is necessary for the Street Touring Category ruleset to address the definition of "charge pipe".
.... I drove it there and back (3.5 hours) and noticed on the way home I have a bit more of a whine than I did on the way home. Can't totally determine if it's the TC or the rear diff...however this drivetrain has been louder than I'm used to - granted there's no sound deadening in the RS, so that could be part of the reason why too. ....
TC is holding up completely fine as far as I can tell with the staggered setup. I've now put in 6 events (along with some co-driving at some of these) so far this year between Lincoln, Sioux Falls and a TnT. Even with equal sized tires (245/9" combo for my rain tires) it still makes the same whine at certain speeds on the highway only.
I believe we have the whine narrowed down to the rear diff. It only does it at around 60mph +/- and 75mph +/- at light/constant throttle. It's not been getting any worse since when I first noticed the increase in sound. The multitude of sounds the evo makes - it's glorious.

Yes, they are poly. The problem is, I can't recall now if the added sound was occurring on the drive down to the first event in Lincoln, or if it started on the drive back. It's great losing ones memory!

I'm going to change the drivetrain fluids soon, so I will see if that makes any sort of difference!

Then that's where your whining sound is coming from. I had the same problem when I upgraded the rear diff bushings to poly. The driveline whine would start around 60mph. I hated it so much, I switch back to stock driveline bushings and the whine went away.
