Well, crap. I just realized the OEM Mount runs right above the drainage areas on the sides of the trunk.
I guess I can run a strip of aluminum on underside of the trunk,
to distribute the load.

Normally i'd go this route or voltex, but a friend of mine is gonna set me up with custom aero front and rear.

I was considering doing a pin on the bolt closest to the rear window, and an elevator screw/bolt at the rear instead of the rubber adjuster thing.

I got to do something. Seeing what happened to a steel trunk I can't imagine the carbon fiber doing anywhere near as well LOL

I'm using these mounts with the pin through the large hole into the drip rail and I don't think it's possible that it could bend the way yours did with this setup.

I just had a look through my phone but i dont have specific photos on how i mounted mine i will take some tonight.

We also noticed the wing was flexing, i have a carbon trunk lid and we noticed on the straights when spectating the crew could see the wing end plates looked twisted back and we worked out the wing was twisting backwards at speed. the issue which youve rightly identified is that the front of the bootlid lifts up and its essentially trying to tear off.

To counter this we built up some turrets which have a baseplate which screws through to the chassis rails. the turret then picks up on the wing mount bases and we bolt through the wing mount base into the plates on the top of the turrets. this way now all downforce is transferred from the wing down the turret straight into the chassis. We also put a pair of hood pin latches up the front side of the bootlid to give it some extra strength. You can put one in the middle front too if you wanted to get carried away but its not needed.

My problem is that this Wing uses OEM Mount locations, which are above the drip rail.

Kaj, those mounts are meant to run a hood pin in your drip rail and secure the front of the mount from lifting. That's the point of the hole next to the front bolt.

Ooooooh. That explains why the hardware bolting the wing to the trunk is so tiny lol
That helps a lot. I'm thinking I will still, however, need to find a way to reinforce the carbon fiber trunk.

I just added this elevator bolt yesterday, and need to buy a pin kit to do the forward most bolt. Credit for elevator bolt goes to @ayoustin who told me to do this a couple years back but this thread reminded me.

I haven't got a picture of it as I never got into TT which would require it. At auto-X speeds it hasn't been needed. From Rick's email to me: "Our trunk mounts use the stock mounting holes. If needed for high speed track use, there is a hole for adding a hoodpin to secure the mount . I believe the extra hood pin hole, if utilized, would be covered by the stock wing for resale." None of the Evos in the pics he sent me (RS Motors OUSCI, psushoe) were using it, either.

My car has had a trunk mounted Kognition wing for a while. Plenty of track time, no bends in the trunk by using elevator bolts at the rear like @V.8MR pictured above. If I put my body weight down on the wing the front edge of the trunk will lift, only a few mm, kind of like how @Balrok described. I traced it down to the trunk hinges are flexing which allows the front edge to lift. I was working on weld on reinforcement braces for the hinges a while back and got it mostly done, but tossed it on the backburner while I juggled the other umpteen amount of things I need to do.

For something like a carbon trunk I'd pin it to the chassis like your mounts allow. The elevator bolts work well to keep things rigid and minimize flex but load is still going through the trunk and I wouldn't trust carbon to not crack after enough time. if only Mitsu had made the trunk aluminum too...

Dont have a link unfortunately. Just took a bolt to Ace Hardware and pieced it together. Has a jam nut so hopefully wont come loose.
