OTC Event Updates

Hey guys!

A lot of EVOs represented at OTC this year and are doing pretty well against the rest of the T3 field so far. For daily or every other day updates on the event, check out the #8 T3 EVO site of my team:

http://www.otcevo.com

Brought to you by the ****, Elliott, and Mueller EVO team! Sponsored by: L&R Racing, BRITS, Kinetic Motorsports, Dynoflash, Vinyl Element, and Stasis Engineering.

**We're on a dialup at best, so pix may not show up as they keep failing during the upload. Plus if the car needs attention, I'll be working on the car instead of geeking out on the computer..

Do you know if Wayne had a Works reflashed ECU? I'd like to know since people are suspecting that detonation is the cause of both engine failures... I'm pretty sure he was running the Works Re-Flash on the last engine that blew... but it wasn't clear why it went.

Thanks...

What's the latest update?

Rumor has it an Evo flipped end over end at ThunderHill. Seeing how there aren't too many of you guys still running, was it your car Derek?

Here's hoping that it wasn't...

I have a friend that works at Infineon (sears point) and said that the Vishnu EVO had clutch problems and was no longer running.

I just read that 5 of the 6 EVOs entered have broken. Everything from engine bearings to ABS problems, etc.

Can someone post each EVO and the exact problem/symtom that sidelined them from the event?

Hmm, the only ones that I know of are...

Wong: Wrecked
Vishnu: Bad snap ring
racerferrari: broken connecting rod

I haven't heard of the other 2... Anyone else have info?

I was searching around some of the other EVO boards and live OTC diaries (i.e. Pulp racing and a few others)to find details. Let's tally up all the EVOs:

Phoneguys/Pulp Racing EVO - Engine Bearing(?)/ Connecting Rod
Vishnu EVO - Clutch problems (Snap ring failure verified)
****/Mueller/Elliot EVO - Flipped in Turn 8 at Sears Point (?)

Road Race Engineering EVO(Robi ) - Engine Failure (cause unknown?)

I have no idea who the other two EVOs are. Keep us posted.

EDIT: Updated EVO Status as needed

boy, I sure hope Derek sticks with his evo, from the little I know him, he is a first class guy. The evo community will lose if he bails.

The ****/Mueller/Elliot Evo flipped on turn 8 at Thunderhill. It's a very high speed turn (around 100mph) and the run-off area slopes uphill.

I was at Sears Point earlier today and saw the RRE Evo sputtering coming down the front straight. Soon after, the tow truck pulled it into the paddock. I'm not exactly sure what happened, but probably an engine failure like you said.

Check the site, I updated it with all the known info at the moment. Please be sensitive and considerate of my current situation.

Sorry to hear about Robi's team as well. I spoke with him earlier today. They wanted the win more than any team out there and was more willing to do what it takes. Matt Oursborn is my man on the #77 team. What a trooper. Last I heard they were not completely out as they were trying to get their problem fixed. They got a great driver in their car (Jean (sp?)), and had been working through a lot of bugs all week.
