Mitsubishi WRC team retired both cars before the rally even started...electrical problems with both cars.
Seems that both cars suffered from failed alternators...
Oh well, the year is still young. Mitsubishi came into this year knowing that they will have issues as they continue to R&D the car.

yeah, i was quite dissapointed in the team, didnt even make it to the first round.. but i understand all the mumbo jumbo about testing the car and the limited time they've had with it, oh well. I did like the little segment they had on the explanation of the wrc lancer construction and theory behind it. I guess we will have to wait until cypris? i think thats how you spell it.

Did you see how low and far back they have the driver seat, it was like he was sitting in the back seat...optimum weight distribution! I love factory race cars!
The team director had been quoted saying that hopefully by mid season the car will be more competitive. Let hope so...

Anyway....its really sucked to see them go before the start of Day 1. What a waiste of $ and time. I would like to believe in the spin "it's a development year so let's not expect anything great", but on the other hand new 307 is doing much much better and so was the new Focus WRC when it was introduced last year. Now....i just thought of a counter argument to myself: This is Mitsu's first real WRC-spec car and Pug and Ford obvioulsy have a lot more experience and data to build on. OK, I will believe that...for now.
