Autocross Pics
Hey I used to own one of those!!! Mine was an '89 GTi (bought new - was called "GTi" for that year until VW got bent out of shape and make Suzuki change it to "GT"). I had a BLAST with that little car! DOHC 16valve engines with close to 7000rpm redlines was pretty exotic stuff back in the late 80's *L*

Yeah, the thing is a blast to drive. The car owner recommended I take it up to like 5000-6000 to launch it, it's 1900 lb so it corners well and skinny letting it sneak through the slaloms. And he knows someone from Bilstein and is trying to get some custom shocks for it. The car has plenty of potential. I just have a hard time getting used to the tight feel of the steering wheel. Does it even have power steering?!
Nope, no power steering! Heavy from a stop, even for such a light car but lots of feel once you get rolling. Be careful power shifting 2nd gear, it is...was...notoriously weak.
one more pic...can't wait for the new season to start!

OK, here are some pics of me in the new ride. Turns out James sold his Swift, but Carl bought one that's in better shape and we're working on that one. Awesome car, but we're still dialing it in. James was about 4 seconds off of the STS winner, and Carl and I were about 6 seconds off.
So this is Carl's car, my rims, and James' tires and expertise. First 2 are of me, the 3rd is of James, and they didn't get any shots of Carl.

I'll post some pics of me at the end of last season. I ended up winning STS class in my ES lancer for the year. I also got 3 1st place event finishes all of which I had blown piston rings (need to fix that for this year).
I'm excited to get out there with a few more mods and some good tires for once. I'll also post some pics of the RallyX the last weekend of Feb., you guys might enjoy those

Thanks Urban, I certainly dont have the competion that you do i bet, but its still a very competative class, and hopefully I get into some of the bigger events with the SCCA to really see how i'm doing.
The Rallyx was fun (I dont have any pics because i'm at work haha) but I got knocked into the modified class with rally cars and people with studded tires. (they changed the rules with an intake this year I guess). With crappy all season tires with no studs I managed to finish 15th overall in ALL the classes out of 48 drivers.. that includes both 4WD production and 4WD Modified with rally and/or street tires. It was fun but racing on ice is rather difficult haha. You all need to get out there and rallyx.
There was an EVO there, but he babied the thing and ended up going home early. He might of been embarrased that a NA FWD lancer was beating him ;-). I cant wait for the autoX season to start up here (i need to move south). That is all.. until I finally post some pics like i said I would haha
