The 'unOFFICIAL-Off-Topic-NTEC' thread
i went to don herring today to pick up the stud. i went to the parts counter the guy wasnt there, i waited for about 5 mins and i hear him having a sweet conversation so i hit the bell and a couple of mins later he comes out his office and looks at me and doesnt say anything. i tell him i called about a exhaust stud yesterday, then he say what stud, whats it for, their are alot of studs. so i tell him which one he goes and gets it and i ask for the price and he says im not there yet. but whatever dude seemed like he didnt wanna help out. and there is always a new parts guy everytime i walk into there.
daniel was the best parts guy. he was there for a while. always extremely nice, helpful and standing at the counter (or would agnowledge you were there if he was busy). no one has matched his helpfulness yet.
I've had good experiences with the parts guys at both DH Plano and Irving lately. This weekend I went in looking for a two position switch (failed), but the guy at the Plano store even dug through some boxes to find a fog light kit to see if the switch in it would work (no).
Plus the cashier chick at the Plano store is smokin'.

we need an 'On-Topic' smile...speaking of PARTS...what do ya'll think is appropriate to carry in your Evo full time?
I know I deservedly earned the 'pack-rat' reputation of having too much, (especially since I'd have to be lost in the back '40' to actually do my own emmergency repairs vs calling roadside assistance)
{you have to remember that I spent 3hrs on I-20 Arlington waiting for an appropriate flatbed wrecker, and under my **** supervision he still put a huge hook into my intercooler}
I've found these items to be particularly essential to daily driving an Evo:
- plastic RV stackable ramp (how many times have you needed to get under your car, or ramped up to their ramps?
- tow-hook straps (i know, i don't have these either)
- spare tire or plug kit, w/cig powered air (hey, its lighter'n the donut we carry!!
- your wheel specific needs-lug locks, or like me, w/aftermarket wheels, stock lugs for spare+ (thin wall)socket, torque wrench (no air guns for me)
- air gauge (doesn't anybody use these anymore??
- hose clamps, zip ties
- 4way combo screw driver, crescent wrench, needle nose, or like Jim's small assortment tool case
- handy wipes (cleans ic pipes as well as hands)
- window cleaner/towels
'bail money'

a lug nut short of a full deck...
speaking of lug nuts, today, I put my stock wheels back on the ground and
I spent an hour looking for my 20th lug nut
turns out I didn't lose it after all....
NTB put them in my bag a few months ago, after swapping wheels ....minus the 20th lug nut...
anybody got an extra???
I don't wanna break anyone's set of 20...
