Its possible that the tank is e100 and the pump mixes it... by same source do you mean same exact pump?

I know that at the kroger in mansfield, the 89 is blended at the pump, and in the ground they only have 93 and 87..... the guy was filling the tanks one day, and I only saw 2 hoses so I asked him..... and he told me the pump does the blending to get 89..... might be the same thing with e85... I havnt asked.....

the difference is actually pretty minimal. 2-3% is pretty good considering some claim swings of 15%. you will see bigger swings in the ethanol content in simple pump gas i bet (up to 10% ethanol). so sean, when are you going to test the ethanol content in the pump gas?

The most i have seen is 8% between fill ups from one station to the next.E85 is never e85 and sometimes e80 has more alcohol than e85 and the longer it sits the less pure it becomes.E85 is very inconsistent,i rescale after every fill up depending on how much i care at the time.

Check the Kroger at 635 and MacArthur because that one and the one in NRH are the ones I'll be using if I decide to switch

I got E85 from Kevin's tank and it was E82.

I filled up at 121/Coit again an it was E79/80 still.

Good deal, filled her up there on the 12th. That Kroger's pricing policy seems to be $0.10 below regular gas (87) so it fluctuates with gas and has obviously been going up. That's ridiculous and not the intention of E85 but since Kroger has the market around here for the most part, I guess they can do what they want.

ya, the 4%/10c price spread is a REAL bummer IMO.

Question: So if the E85 really isn't E85 (and some lower rating), does that affect the tune to the point that you should be concerned? Just curious.

Absolutely its going to effect the tune, it's just unlikely you'll notice. Its not like the tuner simply inputs the chemical properties of the intended fuel and calls it a day. Within a narrow tolerance range of the original fuel composition it was tuned with your engine won't know the difference.

Should get kev to chime in on this but within a certain low load range the engine will re tune itself, everything else its up to a technician.

kevin will tune it with the fuel that you buy, per goofy's research, usually around 80-82%. So filling up with the same %, will net the same results.
