Things NOT to do...
Things NOT to do...
Just a little reminder for everyone out there when using cleaning chemicals and degreasers...wear eye protection. My buddy got some choke and carb cleaner in his eye last night and luckily we had the garden hose running already and it was literally seconds before he began flushing out the cleaner but after a hospital visit the diagnosis was that the HFC's in the choke cleaner literally flash burned the top of his cornea. It will heal thank god but just be aware that some chemicals that we car guys use frequently contains things that literally dissolve the proteins in parts of your eye and can easily lead to permanent blindness. The difference between rinsing your eye 5 seconds after the spray or 1 minute could very well be the difference in retaining your site or going blind. Stay safe out there folks.

Eh come on!! I have sprayed carb cleaner, brake cleaner, gas, and pretty much every other fluid that goes in to a car on multiple occasions in my eyes, its burns, tears up and then you suck it up and be man! Still have perfect vision
Really though on a serious note, you have to be careful.... I guess I have been lucky over the years and been ok, but I know it can lead to permeant damage i a hurry, so +1 on the safety classes! and glad your friend is alright!

im in the same boat as you denver, had it al in my eyes, but caught on quick and stated weaqring safety glasses. ive even had the unthinkable happen, had my bleeder hose pop off my bleeder valve(brakes) the exact time i opened the valve while the pedal was depressed and got a giant explosion of brake fliud in the face, but i always wear safety glasses: good $3.00 spent.
