About 370-380whp will get you there pretty easily
The GTR and Z06 are virtually identical in the quarter mile; some articles show one faster than the other and vice versa. So If you can beat or match one you can beat or match both. I know several Z06's, bone stock, that range from 423 to 458 on a Dynojet. I dont know how far off COBB's mustang dyno they would be.

Also the ZO6 times are with a professional driver really jacking the 6 speed tranny. Im sure that make a huge difference as well compared to the average 50 year old balding, fat guys that drive them in Plano (oh **** thats me in a few years )

Kevin and I were running with a lightly modified C6 Z06 with race slicks on it out at the ECR Toy Run last weekend. The driver (who is a member of ECR), came to find me after the session because he could not belive how fast we were getting out of the corners, and he could not catch up on the straights. He was very impressed with the car and had to come check out the rice burners that he could not pass on the track. Very cool indeed!!

I am told its rated to 1600 degrees and it will "gray" or dull slightly as it weathers.

I will also say Im a bit nervous as I have had things ceramic coated before from the official JOT HOT company and the coatings always seemed much thicker. But MAP assures me its a solid coating and they have used it LOTS and LOTS.

They may be virtually identical in the quarter mile but once you get rolling i.e. highway speed that vette will eat the GTR pretty badly.

C6 Z06: 505hp 470tq ~3200lbs

GTR: 485hp 434tq 3829lbs (underrated I know because they put down 430whp)

I don't know if you just want to be faster than them from a dig at the drag strip or if you wanted to always be faster but I promise you it will take more than 400whp to be faster in a Evo X over that C6 Z06. Even if it only made 430whp it's about 300lbs lighter than the Evo if its bone stock and would effectively have a 60whp advantage over you at 400whp taking into account the raw extra power it has and the weight advantage it has.

Get your parts installed and give us some real world results!

Ok here is a short update. The parts are on and a retune was done. The end result with the stock turbo was only 2 HP but a fairly impressive 20 TQ.

I'll post pics later with it installed, as well as some additional details on the parts and the issues/challenges that occured.

Bottom line I did not gain the 27 HP that I thought I would. Of course it still is the stock turbo.

Its time for a bigger turbo..

Bottom line? on an EVO X, the stock **** flows really well. Mitsu did a really good job matching flow on all the parts. The weak part now is the turbo. To the favor of COBB they told me I wouldnt gain, and the quote Calvin, "You'll pick up a couple of HP". But everyone does agree I have set the groundwork, abeit EXPENSIVE, for a strong flow path for a strong turbo.

Many thought I would lose about 400 RPM before the turbo came on with the exhaust manifold, I lost nothing. The curves are virtually identical. I know Kevin will have them up on COBBS web site very fast.

I was the massive guinea pig for all this stuff, and I really wanted to get a base line increase without a new turbo and once again COBB tried to talk me out of it or get the turbo put on at the same time... Nope I didnt listen.

This was damn expensive and caused a few issues problems. I'll post later about all the details when I do a full review of everything.

Next step will be the turbo.

Charts? I'm more interested in seeing the curves as a whole rather than just peak #'s. That's how the cams on my IX were, picked up a bit of peak wtq, pretty much nothing for peak whp, but the gained area under the curve is what made them impressive.
