When you bring your car from Germany to Texas thru a federal port... You bet they will probe every orifice of that car to make sure it meets all the DOT standards for a car of that year.

They're supposed to.... but most don't if it passes the CEL computer check.

But as the other person said, the customs exam might be quite a bit more rigorous if you have to go through one (I know military inspections can be different).

well i shouldnt have a problem bringing the car in, i have the letter from the epa and dot certification label. i just hope the registration will be easy, cuz i dont have the letter from the bank, but i do have my usareur registration and im told that will do fine
