Pointless NTEC chat thread
Hi, I recently bought a 2013 EVO X GSR from Don Herring (w/ Cobb Stage 2), Hall suggested I sign up here and possibly come to one of your meets.
I previously had a 2008 EVO X GSR and loved every minute of it.
I seen that you have had some Track Days and Fun Runs, something I never really did with my previous EVO, but would like to see about joining one if you'll have me.

Always good to have new people come onboard! There aren't any formal requirements to join NTEC. Just start showing up to stuff and introduce yourself.
There is pretty much something every single weekend. Look forward to seeing you at some of the meets (if I ever make it to one. Haha).

This may be a dumb question, but does everyone use synthetic oil?
I bought my X from Don Herring as well as a car care package (oil changes, rotations, etc.), but they used conventional oil on my first two oil changes. They stated that Mitsu recommends using conventional now.
If synthetic is still recommended then the car care package is pretty much useless..

So, question about aging evo suspension. My car has right at 81k on it. When my bimmer had 90, it needed most of the suspension pieces swapped out. What are some of the culprits on the evo? I don't see any blown ball joints, but that doesn't mean they're not in bad shape. I plan to do the rear bumpstop kit before I take the car in for an alignment. Just wondered if there were any other bushings I should consider swapping out before I go in.
Thanks!
Thanks!

You can do anything from nothing to the complete Energy master set. If you plan to replace a few things it might be cheapest to do the master set and replace as you wish. Whiteline makes really nice bushings too, but piecing them together to make a complete set adds up quick.
