if i do 19s, i keep my stock wheels and pair with sticky tires and use them for track then use the 19s for daily with a harder compound all season tire.

then trying to decide on color. the car is mercury grey. gold is too bold for me. i wouldn't mind bronze but this company's bronze is not great. black (matte/gloss) looks good as a wheel but on the car, black wheels tend to lose detail when viewed from any distance.

silver/titanium is a possibility, just a bit boring.

the car is grey so no gunmetal. no chrome or black chrome along with any exotic colors.

right now i am leaning towards 18x10 wheels in matte black paired with 275/35 michelin pilot super sport tires.

Great choice on tires.... but WHY go to such big rims on Evo? Tires just cost so much more in those larger sizes..

i think it's so easy to put a larger wheel on an X that i want to take advantage of it.

it looks great and a wider tire will offer some advantage on track. true, it's not like i plan on racing like crazy but i do expect 3-4 HPDE events per year and hopefully a trip to COTA in the next year or two.

i'm pretty much set on at least a 9.5" wide wheel so i can run a 265 tire. the reason i'll probably go with this 10" wide wheel instead is the 10" model of forgestar is a deeper concavity, which just looks better.

PSS prices from discount tire today:
245 - $249
265 - $264
275 - $268

^i'm okay with those prices.

personally i would love to put 19 x 9.5s on the car. i think 19s look great on an X but everything aside from appearance is negative so i wont be doing it.

I'd stick with 18s as the largest size. 19s start to look out of place on the Evo, in my opinion.

Gloss gunmetal or brilliant silver. I hate colored wheels...with a passion.

I agree, with minor exceptions. I like white wheels.

I'm so tired of black wheels. Especially flat black wheels.

Brilliant silver is classic. It will always look good on any color.
