Not to be the person that rains on your parade.... but I bet you will end up spending more money including the car payments on this new car over the already built and finished X. From this point going forward...

we usually have the best price for clutch installs (although there are shops that will do it for cheaper, they generally haven't done one before to know how much fun it is ).

labor is 600 for 5 speeds and 650 for 6 speeds currently. evo X is also 650. fluids adds 55-60, resurfaced flywheel 70, ACT clutch is 625, so generally around 1300-1400.

where the X gets you is, it has to have a surge tank to do serious tracking, the MR has to have a trans cooler, the X will kill tires without sway bars, it needs quite a bit of weight reduction to be competitive with essentially the same power as the 8/9. airbag lights are on if you remove the seats. and if you break anything on the X (i.e. trans, rear diff or engine), its a lot more expensive to fix because there isn't a huge abundance of spare parts available. oh and an 8 can be picked up for half the price of a X

Yes but I had to do all the same stuff to the X. So you take a $35k car and put all that into it or take a $15k can and put the same into it the 8 is still cheaper i the long run.

Yeah -- I know you're all right and it's cheaper to build, race, and maintain the 8.

The joke is that while it is cheaper, it's still very expensive relatively speaking.

But as JFo said.... priceless...

I didn't set FTD but I went pretty fast, got a good adrenaline rush, and beat my codriver so it was a good day.
