that's a pretty bold statement. i am more than willing to evaluate both beers side by side in a controlled scientific test.

and since the scientific method requires an experiment to be able to be replicated, better bring a few.

scientific experiments that involve beer are wonderful...I may do a test tonight while watching the pens game.

sounds good. i've been trying to convince one of my friends to start home brewing for months now. he got a kit as a birthday gift last year.

mainly because i want to figure out how to make a raspberry lambic the equal of lindemann's (12 bucks a bottle is a bit steep ha), and a stout better than guinness (if that is even possible).

i started out with the easy kits from mr beer, they make about 1 case per batch...but after a while i got the full batch kit from pittsburgh brewing supply...it makes about 54 -12 ounce bottles per batch. The large kits are much better because they have all of the different grains and hops rather than just a can of concentrate. It ends up costing about $30 to make about 2 cases.

overall it takes about 2 to 3 weeks from the time you brew it until its ready to drink....depending on fermentation time..usually 1 or 2 weeks...

70% chance for rain on Friday. Will everyone still show up with them odds?

Also, in case it gets to bad, is there a make up meet? like Saturday or something?

i will be there. if it rains we can just park in the lower level of the parking lot.

rain sucks because it gets the car all dirty, but i can't let her cower in the garage. where would the fun be in that?

Yeah like today - washed my car yesterday and got the marks off my bumper ( ) and now today it rains and it was 8 dollars wasted!

btw found a great little car was on 19 south of wexford.....takes a credit card so no rushing trying to finish before quarters run out, very clean as well + nice equipment.
